The DIRECTV app will not load on my TCL Roku TV

From the menu of channels or apps DIRECTV, which is worked for four years on this TV will no longer open… It’s clear it’s selected… You can see it spinning as it’s trying to load the app… And then it just doesn’t load and goes back to the home screen and all of the icons… I uninstall the app and reinstall the app and the exact same thing happens… Other apps on the home icon select screen, all load and work perfectly…

I’m out of options. Please help

Being the unit is at least 4 years old, it may just be too obsolete for the service now. I have had several; older Roku TCL in the past and as the app has progressed over the years the units became very slow. It may be time to either purchase a new unit or go with an external streaming device. I decided to go with an external device since the display was still adequate. Have no issues using my 5+ old units with external devices.
