Time zone streaming
My DirectTV streaming guide shows eastern time zone and I'm in Pacific. My address is in the Pacific Time Zone. How do I fix this?

@jdfrost1970 Since DirecTV Stream does know where they are feeding streams to (or at least where they think the stream endpoint is), they could in theory provide the west coast feed (if there is one) where appropriate - in fact I thought that a couple of years ago there was an indication that they were going to do that. But there is no "fix" if they don't do so - the only workaround is the (admittedly clumsy) suggestion of recording and time shifting.
You could contact Support or the DirecTV social media accounts (links for the latter at the bottom of the page) to raise the issue - that is much more likely to get to people that matter than raising it here.

@DIRECTVhelp that's good info if you re using the DirecTV Streaming box but useless for Roku or Fire Sticks. These devices don't have location services. The point is the guide is based on Eastern Time Zone with the exception of local channels and Regional Sports. You need to update your scripts!

The information provided above is not accurate, there is no option under preferences for Location Settings.
This has been an ongoing issue, and DirecTV/ATT needs to fix this. It’s been 7 years since DirecTV Stream came out, and I still can’t believe no one can figure this out.

@BrilliantOne ,
It depends on what streaming device you're using.

As I previously stated, the guide is based on Eastern Time Zone except for your local channels and Regional Sports.

Having DirecTV Stream in an area outside of Central/Eastern Time Zone is not feasible due to non-local channel programming airing 3-4 hours earlier if you are in Pacific Standard Time.
All I hear from DirecTV that an update is coming to correct the issue but that has been over 2 years now, and nothing has happened yet. Clearly they don’t care about the customers that live outside East coast with having to stream content from across the US and forced to watch shows 3-4 hours prior.
DirectTV needs to come up with a solution to provide a better channel lineup based on the users time zone instead of locking it to one specific time zone for everyone.

Almost all program providers only deliver a single stream and that is based on eastern time. There are a small number of national channels that have a "west" channel also. The satellite services are the same. The national networks typically have two feeds east and west and your local station selects the one that is closest to their time zone. So here in dallas we get the national news at 6pm local time and this is the same broadcast that you get in new york at 7pm eastern.
That is almost certainly not going to change.
It's one of the reasons why people use DVRs.

I fail to see how this is an issue. You can record those shows and view them whenever you want. That's the beauty of DVR!

From my perspective, the problem has been fixed. All of my streaming devices (DirecTV Stream, Roku, FireStick, iOS devices) all show the correct Guide time information for my location.

Both. The OPs problem isn't an issue on any of my devices. And the lack of west-coast network feeds is solved by recording.

They have delivered the correct product. It's always been east coast based channels with the exception to locals and regional sports.

Then why do you get your own time zone listings when you have DirecTV satellite 📡 🛰️? We had the DirecTV satellite over 15 years ago and they gave us the Pacific time zone listings.
