tv turns on but no direct tv

My husband was cleaning off the tv screen and it apparently turned off while he was doing that - it worked fine before. Our TV will turn on but there is no tv service. The remote says it's paired but the tv is not responding. I have tried unplugging the tv and resetting the remote. The way our tv is on the wall, we are unable to take it off without help (it's an 80" tv) and the small box I can see on the back is not a direct tv box that I can reset. Can you tell me how to go about resetting it, please?

What do you mean by "there is no TV service"? Any on-screen message? Is the TV set to the correct video input? What streaming device are you using?

Do you have Dtv Satellite or Dtv Stream?

By "no tv service" I meant that the tv will turn and I'm given the option to change input but that is all, there is no programming showing.

Which device are you using? If it's a Dtv Stream box the red reset button is on the side.

Ok, so I'm guessing the box is behind the tv where I can't see it or reach it? I cannot see a box when looking behind the tv as it is now -  the tv is 80" and hanging on the wall and I need more than 2 people to take it down?

We don't live in your house so we don't know what your setup looks like. You don't know how you are using Dtv Stream? Do you have a Samsung tv? Do you have a Dtv stream box'? Firestick? Roku?

I'm still wondering if the TV is actually set to the correct Video INPUT.

Yah that's what I am wondering as well. Flip thru the HDMI / video inputs and see if you eventually get a picture. Let each input change sit on the input for a few seconds before moving on to the next one. I bet while they were cleaning the tv someone hit a button and changed inputs. That's why there is no picture and the tv is asking to switch inputs.

The red button reset for the Direct Stream box is on the side of the box. Did you try different inputs to see if your picture comes back? Also, are you sure you aren't using the Dtv stream Samsung app?

The tv was working fine until someone was cleaning it. I'm guessing he hit something but there's no way for me to get to the box for the reasons I explained earlier so I guess I'll need to get somebody here to take the tv down so we can access the box --I'm not sure why it was hung in such a way that I can't reach it.  Thank you for your help

Sounds like the input is not set to the correct connection defined to the box.

@mcorbin65 what input is the tv on? You're not giving that information, I can almost guarantee that the tv is on the wrong input, most tvs have an input button on the top or bottom of the tv my guess is it was accidentally pushed while cleaning and the tv changed inputs especially since it's listing the inputs on screen

Plus the TV remote has an input (source) button. Hit that and change inputs. I have a Samsung TV as well. Input button is called "source" and is located at the top on the right.
