Unable to Watch Bally Sports Channels

I am unable to watch the bally sports channels live through the Stream app on AppleTV. All three bally channels in my region correctly show up on the guide, but when i select any of them, it brings me to a new page asking me if i would like to restart the program from the beginning (if i select yes or no i still can’t watch) or recording options for the event. 

I have restarted the app, deleted the app and redownloaded, and checked my location services to make sure it was grabbing my location.

Does this mean the bally channels are blacked out for me? That wouldn’t make any sense. Having bally channels is the whole reason why DirectTv stream is attractive to me.

Any help would be appreciated.

I’m on a free trial for the choice package. I can login with the bally sports app and can stream just fine through there, can’t watch my RSN on the directv stream app itself.

I can watch every other channel just fine.

To better assist you, can you please confirm if you are getting any error code, or message when trying to watch those channels? Also, let's make sure you have your home network set up

No error codes. I’ll take you through the steps of what happens. 1. Navigate to Bally sports RSN channel(s) on guide. 2. Click and choose one of them. 3. Page comes up that looks like it’s giving me more information, like an “info” page for example. Doesn’t automatically play like other channels. Only options to select are Restart program from beginning or view all episodes. When i choose to restart program from beginning, nothing happens. If i click to view all episodes and choose a new episode from the list provided none of them work.

My home location is set up correctly, when i go to change it through the app it says it doesn’t need to change because the ip address on file is the same.

Are you sure you are choosing a live show in the guide? Seems like you are choosing a show in the guide that might have just ended. When you hit the up arrow and bring up recent channels--go to the Ballys sports live channel and see what happens.

Yeah it was a live show through the guide. Not a previous episode or anything. I’m all good now though.

Quick question for anyone who can answer as well, If i’m outside of my home location on vacation or whatever, am I able to get my RSN (Bally) via the app? Or do I have to use the bally sports app? I’m currently outside of my home location but see the RSN’s for the area i’m currently in but can’t watch them for obvious reasons.

I want to let you know that the app provides you RSN from the location - GPS  of the device you're using it from. If you want to watch the RSN from your home please deactivate the GPS of device, in this case the app is going to take your billing location and provide you the content of it. you cand find more information here. Okay, i turned off location services on my device for the directv stream app and can correctly see my RSN from my home network, but because the location services are off it’s telling me streaming services are unavailable until i turn location services on

You can set your games to record in your home location and just watch them in the dvr. If you can't set them up on the app---just do it on the directv stream website. Not sure if that's all you want---or if you want to watch live tv as well.

I want to help you with your RSN concern.

 

 

Have you tried checking your home network? If not let's try the next steps:

 

1. Sign in to the DIRECTV app from any mobile.

2. Go to settings.

3. Select Preferences and then Location Settings

4. Check your Home Location.

5. Check if you see:

 

  • Conected, your device is connected to your home network.
  • Not connected, your device isn't connected to your home network.

 

If the statutas is Connected: Please turn on the location services on the device, and try streaming with app again.

 

If the status is Not connected: You can find the steps to set your home network for DIRECTV STREAM here.

I’m having this exact same problem. Bally Sports won’t play, won’t record, nothing. I‘ve tried to go through the steps in this forum…but it hasn’t resolved the issue.

@thehonus Which plan do you have? Have you recently travelled and used Dtv Stream at the other location or have you recently changed your billing info?
