Watching with browser right side scrollbar stays visible
Since the last update Wednesday (11/10/22) night, when watching live TV with a browser, the right scrollbar on the browser does not disappear when watching in full screen mode. This is a new behavior and didn't occur before the update. Have tried multiple computers and browsers and getting the same result. Fixing this should be simple on the Directv end. Lets go guys and gals!

I just spoke to their "support" at DirecTV Stream since this is STILL happening. They are so clueless she couldn't even understand what I was talking about. I told her to look at this thread and she couldn't even do that! When you pay over $100.00 per month for TV, you expect it to work properly.
Following is a workaround for those who want to stay with this crappy service where the company doesn't care about keeping customers:
1) Start your show and DO NOT go full screen.
2) Click the back arrow at the upper left of the video screen (not the browser, the one on the video itself) so it leaves the show in the small Picture in Picture window in the bottom right.
3) Next to your DVR Recordings then click "Bookmarks". As long as you don't have any bookmarks, the scroll bar on the right won't be there, but the small picture in picture window will be there.
4) Expand your show in the picture in picture window to be large, then click the icon to make the show full screen. BOOM - BAR GONE! Since the background page of "bookmarks" has no scroll bar, and that is the page you were on when you made the show full screen, there is no scroll bar to be seen over your program anymore.
While I recommend cancelling this terrible service, if you do decide to stay and let them get away with overpriced, sub-par service, this will hopefully help you with this issue (since it is obvious DirecTV Stream will not fix the problem).

Thanks to Zyxius!
The workaround is really simple. Just navigate to any section which will cause the video stream to play in the PiP window in the lower right corner of the screen. Then just go fullscreen directly from that little PiP window, and the scroll bar will no longer be there!
EDIT: Doesn't always work. Like Zyxius said, you need to be on a page with minimal scroll bar, then when you maximize, it will go away.
Thanks!!

How can they have this issue for every single user for so long and not address it?
The bottom line is that the scroll bar doesn't go away unless it the screen you navigated to the player window from has a very short page with minimal scrolling.
I had to go an delete have my DVR recordings just to get the scroll bar small enough so that when I navigated to the full screen player, it wouldn't persist.
This is ridiculous.

Well contact support and voice your concern. There is nothing any of us here in the forum can do to resolve the issue. I agree, it's ridiculous like all the other problems they have not addressed for years.

I just signed up for DirectTV today and had the same problem. I figured out that you can't click on the play button from the main menus. You have to click on the name of the show, written in black under the picture, and then click the "Watch Live" button from the info screen.

Can't scroll to the right when viewing the on demand movie menu. Why isn't there an arrow to scroll through the movie selections? Or is there another way?

Keyboard arrows or tab I Think. I don't remember for sure. I don't have my laptop with me to test.

The resolution for this was posted in a separate thread. Not sure why it never made it here:
Go to chrome://flags and set "overlay scrollbars" to Enabled
(If you're in the Chrome browser)
Just worked for me
Your welcome! ;0)

Yes, the fix that @ehjay7 Posted works. I’ve had the issue for 2 years before finally doing some research on how to fix it. That worked

Enabling Chrome://flaggs "overlay scrollbars" recently stopped working for me. Now, it appears enabling Chrome://flaggs "fluent overlay scrollbars" works. It probably depends on how your system is set up. I'm still on Windows 10, if that makes any difference. I hope this helps someone!

I was going through my emails and saw that there was a solution in my other inbox. I had to come see what it might be this time. Only to find out is yet another band-aid. I moved on to greener less aggravating pastures myself. I'm really glad this happened because I'm paying 1/2 the price for more TV now !
