Appreciation Pack

Can someone tell me exactly what 10 channels are included in the Appreciation Pack that I'm now supposed to be getting for free?  And How long this will last?

The Appreciation Pack does include about 10 channels, although I myself have only heard of this via Dish Network. I believe that it lasts for 12 months. According to directvhelp 3 months ago, these are the channels included for free.

UP TV-338
Logo-272
BET Her- 330
BBC World News-346
AWE (A Wealth of Entertainment)-387
Cheddar News-354
MTV Classic-336
Tastemade-235

 

Do take note that AWE on 387 will only be available for a select amount of time because DTV stopped their carriage agreement with AWE and OANN.

Do you know if the channels will just go away after that, or will I have to call and cancel them before I'm charged?

You will have to call and cancel as they will just charge the card on file after the 12 month free trial per se. For example, they have an offer for new customers so that they get 3 months free of HBO, Showtime, STARZ, and Cinemax. However, if they do not cancel after the 3 months, the card on file will automatically be charged the amount. I am unaware how much the Appreciation Pack costs.

This is a 12-months offer and there's no need to contact us to remove this package because it will roll off after 12 months.

Okay so direct tv called me about three weeks ago and said they were giving me the showtime appreciation pack, it would be free for a certain amount of time. I told them I did not want it and please don't add it to my line up. They did anyways. And now I am being charged for showtime. I did not want it, stated I didn't want it,  now I have been charged for a month and a half. It's bad enough they keep raising the price, now they're deciding to add channels and charge me even more. And they wonder why people are canceling?!?! Nice way to treat a loyal 8 year customer.

@Kallie211 that definitely should not have played out. You may try cancelling your Showtime subscription online. Go to DIRECTV.com, go to the person figure at the top right corner, press Manage Account, login with your credentials, go to Account Overview, and then Manage my Subscription. Then, scroll down until you get to Premium Networks. Click that and see if you can cancel Showtime. If not, you’ll need to call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and say ‘billing’ to robot to be sent to the billing department which can cancel your Showtime subscription.

The three month free premium channel promotion does exist. However, it shouldn’t apply JUST to Showtime. It should be HBO, SHOWTIME, STARZ, and CINEMAX. Therefore, that’s weird why they offered you only Showtime.

Thanks for the info Detuch254, I do appreciate it. I did try several times to cancel it online with no luck. I called and they said they'd cancel it for me. She was very nice and hopefully this has been taken care of. BTW, that robot was so adamant,  at one point it said it understood I wanted to talk to a person but, go online to try and resolve it. For a second there I thought maybe he was real. Lol.
