  • Have you checked for any pending updates?
  • Are you able to log into DirecTV online when not using the app? 

 

Here is more information on the how to troubleshoot DirecTV app not working. Scroll down to the app troubleshooting section for steps on how to troubleshoot the app. We also recommend:

  • Checking for any pending updates to make sure you have the latest version of the app. 
  • Try logging in using a web browser just to confirm it is an issue with the app and not a log in problem.

I used to be able to watch Directv on my iPad. Have been unable to use Directv app on my iPad due to error code 500.  I can watch Directv on my computer. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the app. It keeps asking me to sign in. Then I get "We're having some issues on our end. Give it some time and try signing in again later. Care Code: 500" This has been going on for over a month.

Now I'm getting the following error message on my PC looking to see if I can watch TV on my PC & ipad. Directv STILL has not fixed the issue. Now we have a second error message:

503 ERROR

OUR SITE IS HAVING SOME TECHNICAL ISSUES RIGHT NOW

Possible reasons for this:
  • Sunspots are flaring our atmosphere.
  • Someone tripped over a power cord.
  • We were told by support to turn it off and back on again.

On 2/10/22 I was assured error code 500 would be escalated to the Engineering Team. Because the problem is on their end. Obviously this did not happen.

Any progress on this from the engineering team? I'm now on day four with out service. Tried all the troubleshooting, support isn't even calling me back now.

I have heard NOTHING from Directv nor the Engineering Team. They requested my email address & said they would email me went they fixed the error on their end. The error still is not fixed. If I had any say, I would have gone to another provider a LONG time ago.

I've had no service at all this month, so canceled my service and requested a refund for April. I did get an email response that my refund has been processed. I've gone to a different  streaming app that is cheaper, but still provides a similar channel line up. So far I am very impressed with my new provider. The format is laid out better and easier to use. Direct tv stream when it was working, was not an option on my fairly new Samsung smart TV or Samsung phone.but my new service was so now I don't need to use a Firestick. After 15 years of AT&T u-verse, then, direct tv, then direct tv steam, its nice to be done with the issues they could never resolve.
