Error when logging into apps on Apple TV -Bad Request The Access Manager WebSEAL server received an invalid HTTP request
I provide DirecTV login info when trying to login to VH1/MTV/Bravo/etc. apps on Apple TV, however, I get this error message asking me to contact my IBM representative:
Bad Request The Access Manager WebSEAL server received an invalid HTTP request.
I have cleared my cookies and tried on multiple browsers (Safari, Chrome) and different devices (Macbook, Windows laptop, iPhone, Android.) It is same response. Service worked great for months but now no longer works. There have been no changes. Wi-Fi is great!
Please help!

Yes, it has. Now, if you choose that you are a satellite customer, you can login with your satellite credentials.
You may need to update or reinstall the DIRECTV app to reflect these updates though.

Just get the DIRECTV app on your Apple TV. You’ll gain access to all those channels including on-demand. No need for individual apps.
Do you have DIRECTV STREAM service or DIRECTV satellite service?

Thanks for the response! I have DIRECTV satellite service- last time I tried using the DIRECTV app on Apple TV (~6-12 months ago?) it required me to have a DIRECTV STREAM service. Has that changed recently?

Where would I be able to choose that I'm a satellite customer? When I launch the app and attempt to log in, it never prompts me for that. The log in attempt results in it asking to provide a valid DIRECTV STREAM ID
Edit: confirmed the app is Version 4.0.43 released on Dec. 5, 2022

@andrxww
You should see a screen like this when starting up the app.
To the right press ‘Sign In’ and at that point it should allow you to sign into DIRECTV. Put your account credentials in and you should be good to go.

I get the same error and when I follow the above instruction using the DirecTV app and after logging in with same credentials I use for directv.com I get the below.
Please sign in with %@BrandName Info
We don't recognize that ID or password. Please double-check your info and try again
So my question is why do the individual apps not work anymore after DirecTV moved to att.net authentication style and all the apps broke with the error "Bad Request The Access Manager WebSEAL server received an invalid HTTP request"
And when trying to simply use DirecTV app doesn't work either.
I can use my laptop and log directly into directv.com/watch and everything works just fine. It looks to be the authentication coming from apps that is broken.
