Multiple TV’ s streaming on Roku get into video loop

Came to Direct TV stream leaving Dish Network after 27 years.  Been great until last few days.

Quite often while watching the video will get into a short loop while the audio continues.  The only way to get out of loop is to fast forward only to have it reoccur at random times.  No particular channel, random.  This is not specific to any particular tv either.  Very annoying.
is there a fix?  I’ve tried rebooting TV and Roku, no success.

The issue you're experiencing with the video getting stuck in a loop while the audio continues playing can be frustrating. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this problem:

  • Check your internet connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and has sufficient bandwidth to support video streaming. You can run a speed test to check your internet speed and check with your internet service provider if there are any known issues in your area.
  • Update the DIRECTV STREAM app: Make sure you have the latest version of the DIRECTV STREAM app installed on your Roku device. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.
  • Clear the app's cache and data: Try clearing the cache and data for the DIRECTV STREAM app on your Roku device. This can help resolve any temporary glitches or corrupted data. Here's how:
  1. Go to the Roku home screen
  2. Navigate to "Settings" > "System" > "Advanced system settings" > "App settings"
  3. Select the DIRECTV STREAM app and choose "Clear cache" and "Clear data"
  • Restart your Roku device: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Unplug your Roku device from power, wait for a few seconds, and then plug it back in.
  • Check for Roku system updates: Make sure your Roku device is running the latest software version. Go to "Settings" > "System" > "System update" and check for any available updates.
  • Try a different streaming device: If the issue persists, try streaming DIRECTV STREAM on a different device (e.g., a different Roku model, a smart TV app, or a web browser) to see if the problem is specific to your current Roku device.
  • Contact DIRECTV STREAM support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact DIRECTV STREAM customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide more specific troubleshooting steps or identify if there's a broader issue affecting their service.

It's worth noting that intermittent streaming issues can sometimes be related to temporary server-side problems or network congestion, which may resolve on their own after some time.

Hello, @cesskaya It is Possible issue related compatibility issue with your Roku device and Direct TV Stream so you can try this :

Check your internet connection:

  • Ensure that you have a stable and high-speed internet connection. Video streaming requires a consistent and reliable internet connection to avoid buffering or playback issues.
  • Try running a speed test to check if you're getting the recommended internet speeds for DirecTV Stream (at least 25 Mbps for 4K streaming).

Update your Roku device:

  • Make sure your Roku device has the latest software updates installed. Software updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.

  • Navigate to Settings > System > Software Update on your Roku device to check for and install any available updates.

Clear the Roku device cache:

  • Clearing the cache on your Roku device can sometimes resolve playback issues.

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Streaming Channels and select the DirecTV Stream channel, then choose "Clear Cache."

Reinstall the DirecTV Stream channel:

  • Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the DirecTV Stream channel on your Roku device.

  • Navigate to the Roku Channel Store, search for the DirecTV Stream channel, and reinstall it.

Check for DirecTV Stream service issues:

  • Visit the DirecTV Stream status page or social media channels to check if there are any reported service outages or issues in your area that could be causing the video looping problem.

Contact DirecTV Stream support:

  • If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's recommended to contact DirecTV Stream's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or identify if there is a known issue on their end.

If the video looping problem occurs on multiple TVs and Roku devices, it could indicate a compatibility issue or a problem with the DirecTV Stream service itself. In such cases, reaching out to their support team is advisable as they may have more specific solutions or updates to address the issue.

Thank You

Best Regards,
