New Menu functionality - how do I break the cycle?

I'm trying to find an explanation or demo as to how to navigate the new menu functionality that I can use to explain to my 80 year old mother, as we just want to get to the list function again. When we hit the menu and try to go to "My Library", and then "Recently Recorded", we get forwarded to this weird screen that redirects us to the Browse Menu. Going to the "Continue Watching" you get to the end with "View Playlist" and I get hopeful I'll get to a screen that's even an approximation of the LIst function from days of yore, only to be taken BACK to the weird redirecty screen that sends me BACK AGAIN to the Browse Menu! All my mom wants is to be able to get to the show she wants to watch, because the recordings are no longer grouped together by program. I'm not here to complain, though I also find it a frustrating change to the functionality; I am really just trying to find a way to navigate this that is anything close to what my mom had before. I don't mind trying to teach her something new, but this is neither as intuitive or user friendly as the last interface.
