Bargain Block HGTV recording refuses fast forward on ads.

Then the program was recorded from an On Demand channel as only programs recorded from the satellite channels can be FF

i had this problem too, with season 4 episode 1.  directv is not a streaming channel and this is the first time this has happened to me. 

DTV's On Demand is streamed from the channels servers.

I saw prior posts about recording from on demand, which is a silly thing to allow.  When I set up the recording, I did not see any choice to avoid on demand recording!  Only one item came up in search.

It's best to schedule recordings from the channel Guide instead of using Search. Then your DVR will only record from the actual satellite channel.
