Can't access NBA League Pass games on NBA app with DirecTv log-in

Having the problem that lots of people have every year.  

You log in to the NBA app with DirecTv as your service provider, gives you a "Success" message but when you try to access a game, you get the "Your plan does not include access to League Pass. Please contact your TV Provider to upgrade."

Won't work on any device - phone, iPad, computer.  I'm not signed in with my NBA log-in, only DTV so it's not that.

i've never been able to watch a game on a device in the 4 years i've had League Pass with DirecTv.  Finally trying to fix it.  Not seeing any solutions on this forum or anywhere else where somebody got a proper solution.   Is there a fix for this or it just won't work ?

You can try to activate your NBA LEAGUE PASS here, following the steps to use your DIRECTV credentials,

Do you receive any special message in the NBA channels 750-768?

Please try to activate it and tell us ow it goes so we can explore further options to help you with this access.

my account is already activated and i'm signed into the NBA app with DirecTv as the service provider.  League Pass works fine on my tv at home, i can't watch games on a device - phone, tablet or computer.  I'm logged into the app fine but it won't let me access games.
