Cant delete recordings, cant cancel future recordings
Using Fire TV remote because DirectTV controller will only turn on/off or adjust volume. No other functions work. Can it be reset somehow?
Using FireTV remote I can see the recordings, but no way to delete them or cancel future recordings of programs i dont want. (A friend was using the device while housesitting and cant remember how he did it.)

Nope, as the DTV remotes are only made to turn on/off the TV and control the volume of the TV/A/V receivers/soundbars and to control the DTV receiver. Since most TV remotes don't have the codes to control the DTV receiver you have to use the DTV remote to delete anything

Thank you Shannon, that makes sense. But my DTV remote ALSO doesnt do anything but turn on/off and volume. I've changed the batteries, it flashes quickly when any button is pressed.

DTV remotes are preprogrammed to control DTV receivers but sometimes the RC7X remotes need to be reprogrammed to the Genie or mini client.
