direct tv app for kindle fire

I've always used a Kindle Fire and had no problem using the Direct TV app on the Kindle. When the app was updated there was a message stating that the Direct TV app no longer can be utilized with Kindle Fire. That's a big problem for me as I use it a lot and part of what I felt I was paying for with the service. I called and spoke to someone and was that this is the case and they were working on it. It's now been over a month. I'm trying not to change carriers from Direct TV, but I have checked with the others, and they all support the Kindle Fire. Will this be resolved soon? If yes, how soon?

I've been using an app for streaming Direct TV for the 3 years we've had Direct TV. There's been an app at Kay that long. April 18th it was 'upgraded'and no longer works on the Kindle Fire where it has worked for 3 years

Download and install the Google Play apk file onto your Kindle Fire and install the Directv Stream app through Google Play.  I did that to my Kindle Fire and the app works perfectly.

It's been a supported device until April 18th, and it's not anything I changed. Thanks for the input

If I recall the Kindle lost support for DIRECTV streaming. As stated by a poster before, you need to find an APK file of the DIRECTV app online and download/install that into the Kindle Fire. In the settings of your Fire you need to allow unknown sources in order to install any APK file.

Thank you. I'm old. I'll have to figure that out. I've never heard of an APK file
