What is your receiver model? You would have to press the "R" button on the remote two times when the show you want to record is highlighted in blue. This will setup a series recording for that show. From there, you go to Series Manager on the receiver (I can tell you how to do so if you give me the receiver model) and select the show. You would then change Series recording settings to just "First Run" rather than Repeats.

You have to set a manual record or go into your series manager and then under series options it has start and stop time you can add the time there.
