Green line that won't go away on one specific channel. Looks like it's recording but it's there even when you're not recording.

I'm trying to solve a prolem that by 85 year old grandparents are having with their direct tv. I tried uploading a picture mulitpe times with no success. Tried resizing it but still not luck. I'll try my best to explain it. It only happens on one channel (7) and it's a green line that does not go away at the bottom of the TV screen. It's there whether you hit record or not and it will not go away. You cannot fast forward or rewind and the channel is kind of frozen with no volume. We've hit several different buttons and have gotten it to go away a few times and all is well but then at some point in the day it comes back.

It's the channel that Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune are on.... and it's one of the few things they look forward every day and I'd love to resovle this issue for them. Any help is appreciated.
