MLB Extra Innings Channel In Market Games
I know the MLB extra innings package is for out of market games only. However, during the 7-day free preview of extra innings, I could watch Reds and Braves games on the extra innings channels even though they are in market. Once the preview ended, I can still watch the braves as an in market team on the mlb extra innings channels even though they are in market. The reds games just say I am not authorized even though I have extra innings. Bally sports south supposedly picks up reds games (fox sports did last year), but they haven't yet on mine this year. Anyone else in East TN having problems with directv picking up reds games? I just want to watch the reds and I fear I won't see another game now that the mlb extra innings free preview is over. It is ridiculous that I am blacked out and can't get it 'in market' when I have extra innings.

Thanks for the reply. I have purchased extra innings, but only the in-market braves show up with the out of market games on the directtv channels, not the in-market Reds. I am in east tennessee. Not sure why the Reds games are unavailable.

Hello @robbyredsrobby! Thank you for reaching out!
You can watch the in-market Reds games on local channels. However, MLB TV is for viewing out of market games only.
If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Not one Reds game has been shown on local channels (bally sports south or bally sports southeast) this year on my directtv. Is there some sort of distribution issue?

DTV has no control over the Reds programming.

I don't know if we are talking past each other, but directtv does control what they put on bally sports south and bally sports southeast. Other cable companies and fox sports go had the reds game today available, it just wasn't on directv for some reason. They are just not putting it on the alternate channels for 646 and 649 this year for some reason, once it went to bally sports.

No they don't, they only rebroadcast what those channels send them.

Hi @robbyredsrobby! We want to help you enjoy the games.
With MLB Extra Innings you can watch up to 90 out-of-market games a week. Blackout restrictions (http://sm.att.com/1ca5176d) are designed to protect the television rights holders in the competing teams' respective home markets. Please send us your zip code so we can confirm the game availability for you.
Here's a useful resource where we can find the Season Schedule (http://sm.att.com/e355ac72) as well as the station that will broadcast the game.

Ok, I wanted to follow up to maybe help others. Number 1, until mid-may, reds games are not being picked up on bally sports south or southeast due to bandwidth issues with NBA, NHL, and MLB all being on. Number 2, once I added 'sports pack', I am now able to watch the reds on bally sports cincinnati. So, I am good to go now. Thanks for the responses.
