Old App/New App - Neither working now
I've been a frequent user of the download&go geniego feature on the app for years. I often ran into things that didn't work and came up with workarounds. For example, my downloaded content never appears outside my home unless i go to airplane mode (I wonder if that is because I have a near 50% full 8TB hard drive connected to my HR-54-200). In any event, my solution when things didn't seem to work right was simply to delete the app and reinstall it. That obvious is no longer an option with the old app. Currently, it's only showing some of the things on my DVR (some brand new from yesterday, but not even everything on my DVR from yesterday). When I look at the things it is displaying in my DVR, there it no download option anymore. I tried unregistering and re-registering the phone to no avail. I've reset the internet and rebooting the HR54 with no change. It's at this point, I would have deleted the app, reset everything and started over...generally with success. Any advice on how to completely reset the app and start over without deleting it (unless there is a magical way to re-download it?
Also, after many, many conversations with probably every DirecTV employee, nobody can tell me if the new app is ever going to have the download and go option. That's pretty much the only thing I use the app for. I can't even get the app to recognize that my DVR is on the same network so can't even explore the functions of it.
Kinda stuck and would appreciate any advice that was available.

Sadly, nobody here knows whether the app will ever be "fixed". It's taking a long time.

DTV dropped support for streaming the content from the Genie outside of your home network a few years ago, you have to download it before you leave home.

I’m having the same trouble. Also the old DIRECTV app for iPad is no longer in the AppStore. The app is very glitchy. Right now it’s prompting my to register my device (which was already registered) but won’t let me. I’ve reset my dvr and my ipad with no luck!

unfortunately, that’s up to DIRECTV to fix. Whether it comes in the form of an update or other bug fix, we don’t know. At least, most DVR recordings are available on-demand as well as elsewhere so you aren’t completely stuck.
