Remote doesn’t control power on/off on Samsung TV

I re-programmed an RC73 Genie remote to pair with my Samsung TV which is connected to a small receiver box. There was only one code available for my model. Everything works except the Genie remote is unable to turn on/off the TV. I get messages “not available” with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and “no signal” in anther pop up box on the TV. I have re-programmed and reset-set the remote and reset the receiver box several times and it still won’t work. I have to use the Samsung remote to power on/off the TV. This Samsung TV was at another house using a different older remote and it worked fine. Can you please help? Thanks!!

What DTV receiver do you have?

I would guess a Gemini but need confirmation.

Thanks! I spoke to DirectTV tech assistance through my DM noted above. After going thru many processes over and over again, he said my genie remote and receiver model are not compatible with my older Samsung TV. I asked what the solution was… he said that a Gemini receiver and remote will work with the TV. I have a tech scheduled to come out to install. Fingers crossed.

I have 2 of those Remotes.  1 programmed easily to TV & AV receiver when new DTV receiver was installed.   the 2nd one won't program.  even a tech here last month couldn't get it to sync.   no resolution, just interesting issue for me.

I had a tech come out to my house. He actually found a code that worked with my old genie receiver after much trial and error!
I was very pleased!
