RFD channel, audio levels vary
I have noted audio level problems on the RFD channel for awhile now, anybody else note this? I note it at the top of the 5PM ET M-F show on Trains, when they do the RFD ID ( identification ) the audio is real loud, then goes soft. With in the show the same things happens occasionally . . . it is like an auto-level device they may use is not adjusted correctly.

Interesting, however, we are customers just like you so the best I could do for you is ask you to call DIRECTV (number is below in my greeting) and express to them the concern that you just expressed here on the Forum. Hopefully, they will take note of the issue and get it resolved. If not, there isn't much you can do.
Most likely, though, the actual channel (RFD TV) is broadcasting a varying version of their channel and DIRECTV couldn't do anything as this is what they are sent. However, it is still worth a try to call and see if your concern is resolved in a couple weeks.

DTV has no control over the volume or programming any channel sends them.

I did call RFD one time, they said it was leaving them OK, DIRECTV said they could not hear a problem. I worked in broadcasting (TV) for over 40 years and frankly . . . one of them is not checking very well.
The real problem is this stuff is so much automated nowadays that nobody ( like a real person ) really pays it much attention unless they actually loose audio and even that is now detected via automation, use to be a real person monitored it.
Yes they have too many channels to monitor but even more so they should check closer with real people, maybe more often then they do now.
Have you ever noted the music channels on DIRECTV, the levels are on many channels are alI over the place from channel to channel. I spoke to MUSIC CHOICE, the supplier of the music channels to DIRECTV and they said it is not their problem.
If anybody is reading this please check out RFD around 5PM ET M-F, before the Train program . . . especially when they do the ID ( identification ) and let me know if you hear a problem. with sound ( audio ) levels going loud to soft, etc. This problems has been going on for years now on RFD. It doesn't happen on any other channel on DirecTV, except occasionally on the music channels as said earlier when you switch between music channels.

@alok I never noticed a music channel glitch but you should definitely bring these things up with DIRECTV. If they aren’t able to get it reported and/or looked at, a different department or supervisor could be of help.
