Does the HR44 recognize the LNB and show error code 771? If you see 775 that means power to the LNB isn’t right. Or, it could mean a bad LNB or bad coaxial cable run.
Make sure mast is perfectly level. Also ensure that the LNB is seated correctly in the LNB arm and that there is clear line of sight to the southern sky. Also, verify that your elevation settings and skew settings are correct. Then, you would adjust the azimuth (left and right movement of the dish) until you see signal on satellite 101. To access the meter on the HR44, go to Menu, Settings, Satellite, and View Signal Strength. Once you have signal on 101 (90% at least) then you can lock it down and go to one of the HD satellites like 99 (ca) to dither the signal.
