stuck on install directv player

I hope someone can help me with this, because nothing I've found online has worked. I have a MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.7. I've successfully download the Directv Player. I refresh my browser (Safari and also happens on Chrome) but it just keeps asking me to install the Directv Player app again. I've cleared cookies, cleared cache, restarted, refreshed, deleted all video guard files, but it still keeps forcing me to re-install the app. I'm relatively computer savvy but I cannot for the life of me get it working.

On a side note, dear Directv, this seems to have been an issue for years. It is not an unreasonable request for your online viewing experience be seamless. I pay over $200 a month AND have the NFL package, yet I can't watch online because your player is buggy? Or requires a bunch of steps before it'll work correctly? I've seen complaints about this going back to 2016! Time to step up and resolve this issue.

Don’t complain to us, we are customers just like you on a public forum. I have to agree with you, DIRECTV player is so unpredictable and for years it has been an issue. However, I personally never had problems with it although a few times here and there it would bug about needing the Video Player installed.

Have you tried reinstalling the video player? Any sort of ad-blocker or website add-on that you have?

If not, there’s not much we can tell you to do other than go to the channel’s actual website and log in with DIRECTV as the TV provider. When you do this, you can enjoy the specific channel’s live stream and their on-demand content. Do be aware that you cannot enjoy content on channels without TV EVERYWHERE functionality.

There are definitely a few workarounds to this issue like installing an Android emulator and installing the DIRECTV app on that. You mentioned that you were tech savvy so I don’t see this as being too difficult for you. If you do decide to go this route, I recommend BlueStacks or Nox Player.

Thank Detuch254, I appreciate the response. Yes, I've deleted and reinstalled the player a handful of times. Like I mentioned, I've tried all the "fixes" I've found online. Haven't tried the Android route yet, so that's a possibility. Just seems ridiculous that it's not as seamless as specific channel websites. Thanks again.
