Unknown Error message on Directv app

I’ve tried to open up my directv app on my iPhone several times. It looks like it is loading and then the message “unknown error” pops up. So I haven’t been able to use the directv app on my phone at all since getting directv installed two weeks ago. I’ve tried deleting the app, shutting my phone off, turning it back on, then downloading the app again and I still get the same message.

Try the following troubleshooting steps to see if it helps: 

1. Verify time settings are set to auto on your device.

2. Reset your password

3. Reset your device.

4. Delete cache and cookies.

I figured it out. I found another thread where it talked about syncing the directv account with the att account. Once I did that, the app opened for me.
