When can we expect a bug fix for the new UI? (July 2026 - Workaround included)

I, like many others DirecTV users, am somewhat disappointed that the newest update to the User Interface is very buggy and leads to a runaround.  The current experience is to click the list button and have the blank screen that talks about how to record "Live Shows" and how it will appear on the screen.  The problem becomes that none of my previously scheduled shows for recording show up on this screen.  The cursor defaults to a button at the bottom right of the screen (Browse here?) that if you click it takes you to a new menu that includes "My Library."  And while "My Library" shows the programs we've recorded, clicking on one of them only brings you back to the empty screen you started at (unless you've stared watching one of the recordings, then it works?).

I have tried to remove and then reinstate established program recordings to get them to show up on the list screen, to no avail.  I have also tried to refresh the DVR, and will be attempting to remove the power completely from the device and starting it back up again.  After reading previous responses, I hold little hope that this will resolve the issue, but I will still do due diligence.

This is a supremely frustrating system, when the previous version was so straightforward.  I'm not sure where the glitch lies, but I'm sure most will agree the less clicks to get where we want, the better.  With the number of complaints I've seen in this forum and across the internet, I am curious as to when a patch will be pushed to users that will fix the incongruities to the system?

In the meantime, I have discovered a workaround:

  • Click on "List" on the remote
  • Arrow up to "Recording Manager"
  • Arrow down to "Recording History"
  • Recordings are listed from Newest to Latest
    • Click the program desired
  • Arrow left to click "Watch Now"

Still not intuitive, but it will get a viewer where they want to go.

Thank you for your time.  Awaiting your response.

Thanks for reaching out.  If possible can you send us a picture of what they see when you press list on the remote?  We will send a PM to you to get this screen shot.  Also, are your receivers connected to the internet?  Mark, DIRECTV Community Manager

I am not home at the moment.  I will say that removing power to the receiver and resetting it did restore the previous access to our list.  I was waiting to see if it was temporary before I updated the case.  I will follow up when I return home again to let you know if the fix stuck.

**we are not internet connected due to having a satellite internet.   Unable to connect with internet at this time.

Checked the receiver when I arrived home and the reset seems to be holding.  I will open this up again should the receiver revert to the previous view.

Thank you for your response.
