A update box appears randomly on screen

I am have a box appear on my screen randomly. I has no information in the box, but a wheel spins, then freezes. I have to hit exit twice, or guide and back to show for it to go away. It re-appears again after 10 to 15 min. Also, it is not letting me change channels by typing in the channel number but makes me go to guide first, then enter channel to switch. Not sure if both are related.

What streaming device are you using?

Is this only happening with DirecTV Stream?

I’ve had this too. Just started this past week.  I’ve reset the at&t box, reset the modem, unplugged and replugged the cables.  It’s specific to my AT&T box because it won’t happen when I play a DVD.  It happened when we streamed YouTube through our Apps.

I have no idea honestly.  I use the app that’s through the AT&T box.  It happened through Netflix as well.

U can access google play store thru the apps area and see if they are updated. Go to it then in the top right corner click onto your account icon. First---mange apps/games and go to the right and check for updates. Also, on that same page at the bottom under settings make sure auto update is on.

Also make sure which device is asking for the update. It could be the TV itself.

Ok, they’re all updated and auto update is on.  I don’t think it’s the TV because I can watch DVDs with no problem

Is your tv a smart tv and/or connected to the internet for updates? Make sure it's updated as well if it is.

Yeah Smart TV is updated.  I can stream through the tv and I don’t get the update box

Same for Brad. I have updated everything. Changed cables, reset wifi. Only has an issue when streaming thru att universe.

Is this happening with you guys when you exit out of an app? I started getting a box popup after I exit out of youtube and Hulu....except mine is a cancel recording box. Just started today. Just have to hit back or exit to remove the box. I restarted the box and the glitch was resolved.
