Auto Extend

I just found out about auto extend when I got a survey to fill out.  My TV shows are constantly being cut off because the (Edited per community guidelines) NFL games run long however the way I read the website is auto extend only works on sports.  Is there a way to set it up, like Dish TV does, where I can record a show as much as an hour longer than the scheduled end time so I don't miss a show if the prior show runs too long?
