basketball game blacked out
i have the DirecTV Stream Choice package, which includes AT&T Sportsnet Southwest (channel 674) but when i try to watch a Houston Rockets basketball game i get a screen telling me that the game is blacked out. why is this happening? the whole reason i got the Stream package is so i could watch Houston sports from where i am (New Orleans). if games are blacked out, i have no use for DirecTV Stream.

Hi @lhitetx1 We're here to assist you.
When a local game or nationally televised event isn't available for viewing on DIRECTV STREAM, is because the sports leagues and associations restrict a sporting event from view.
Sports blackouts and game availability aren't controlled by DIRECTV. Here you can see more about Sporting event blackouts.

As DIRECTVhelp says, the NBA does not allow a Regional Sports Network (such as Sportsnet Southwest) to show live games outside of the team's market. If you got the RSN for that purpose, then you might as well cancel.

ah, that link explains it, i think. for the Houston regional network only the Astros are listed, not the Rockets. and for the Dallas regional network, the Rangers are listed but not the Mavericks. so the culprit is the (Edited per community guidelines) at the NBA. and i trust that once (if?) the baseball season starts i will be able to see Astros and Rangers games. i guess time will tell.
