Black screen on laptop and TV when connected via HDMI or Chromecast

On any channel it is impossible to watch and show without the screen going black.  Eventually it goes black and the picture will not come back.  

It has happened on multiple TVs, using different connection methods including:

1) Laptop connect by HDMI 

2) Laptop connected by Chromecast

3) Smart phone connected by  Chromecast

4) Laptop screen only

5) Smartphone Screen only

This has gotten to the point  that I'm prepared to cancel my subscription.

What service are you talking about? You don’t watch satellite tv on a tv using laptop or mobile device. Do you have the streaming service? If you do have satellite service, casting to a tv from a mobile device is purposely blocked. You need a Directv receiver for each tv.

Hi, @dmdfishingnva. Let's work together to solve this back screen issue.

Let's try first using your computer and Chromecast device:

1. Make sure you have a Compatible device or Tv with Chromecast built-in. 

2. You will need the latest version of the Google Chrome browser. You can also uninstall and install the browser.
3. Connect your computer and TV to the same home Wi-Fi Network.
4. Go to DIRECTV STREAM in your Chrome® browser and sign in.
5. Select Tools (the 3 vertical dots) at the top-right corner of the browser.
6. From the dropdown menu, select Cast.
7. Choose the TV or device you want to cast to.

Tip: For easier streaming from your computer, learn how to add a Cast button to your toolbar.

The suggested corrective actions did not help.  Even watching on the laptop screen Lenovo Yoga purchased this year or Samsung 8+ the screen will go black.

@dmdfishingnva, thanks for clarifying it. We understand the importance to get it working. By any chance, have you tried with different HDMI cords?.

Yes but even occurs when not hooked to the TV on my laptop screen.  Internet speed is high.  

Other streaming services work flawlessly  on this system.

I use google chrome to watch Dtv Stream and occasionally cast it to my Samsung tv and have never seen the black screen issue.
