Can we get rid of profiles or are individuals stuck with it now?
Not everyone need profiles. Having it forced on me first thing after I turn the tv on is wrong. Allow me to NOT use profiles if I don’t need it.

@GTyz Problem solved: The "Profile On Launch" option under Preferences only shows up if you have two or more profiles. I just created a second profile and I now see the switch to turn it on or off.

Profiles have been one of the top requests by users for years. Now they are being added. If you want to have the ability to shut them off you need to follow the same procedure that all the people that wanted them added did to get them. Let DirecTV know you would like to have the option to bypass them.
I personally like them as different family members have different viewing habits and can set up the profiles for their programing wants.

I don’t care if everyone wants this, I want to turn it off because it disrupts my TV watching. I want to turn it off even if God thinks it’s great.
CAN THIS BE TURNED OFF WAS THE ORIGINAL QUESTION.

@LGO To answer your question no you cannot turn the profiles off and we get it you do not like them. So please do not make multiple posts and comments making the same statements over and over again. If you do not want to see the profile page launched every time you turn on your TV go into your settings and select preferences then select Profile on Launch and turn to the off position. This will keep you in the proprietary profile when you turn your TV on and off.

@Tiger593- so we are forced with this “feature” but you’re telling me how to turn it off? there is no way to change it in preferences.
get over me being upset. this isn’t about you.

If you are only on one profile it starts up on the same profile every time--for me anyways. Not seeing a profile page.

To stop the profiles screen on launch, go to Settings > Preferences and disable (OFF) Select Profile on Launch

I like that option @GTyz but it’s not there for me anywhere. I’ll keep checking, I’ve updated the app.

@Ludwick577 the DTV app on my Sony TV doesn’t show profiles either but that’s because they haven’t rolled it out there yet.
I hope I see the option to change tho

@GTyz I have a DirecTV box, a Fire Stick 4K Max, and a Roku Ultra and I do not have "Select Profile on Launch" on either one of them, under Preferences.

@lou_do, are you on a grandfathered plan? I remember setting in-home was not available for these accounts—there's no reason for not having this option on your devices other than a difference in the account.

I have turned the tv off with the app active. On the 5th cycle the tv turned on and went straight to the last place the app was when I turned it off.
it took a few times but now the app isn’t asking me for a profile choice, it loads the last profile used. I’ll leave it alone and see if this is “my fix” so to speak.

To change the profiles screen on launch preference is also available on my Roku devices.
