Casting DVR Playback
I'm one of a large group of people who live together in one home. In addition, three of us, including me, have second homes and we shuttle back and forth frequently.
I know that DirecTV STream's, or DTVS's, third outside stream is restricted to mobile devices like phone and laptops and tablets and so on. I can live with that with one exception: If we're stuck being the third outside stream, we have found that we cannot cast DVR playback to our TV's from our droid phones through a ChromeCast. Every time we do so, we get the message "Casting for recordings coming soon. You can't cast cloud dvr recordings just yet. We are working on it. Thanks for your patience."
As far as I can recall, we've been getting this message for years whenever we try to cast DVR playback to a TV from a mobile device, whether it was DirecTV Now, AT&T TV Now or, in the current case, DirecTV Stream. Several years is a long time to be saying "Coming soon!"
What's the story on this? Is it still DTVS' intention to fix this? Is there some sort of time estimate on it? Is there anything us poor little guy slobs can do to move this up DTVS' priority ladder?
The thing is my peeps are currently stuck with YouTube TV and we're not happy with it. We would like to switch to DTVS but this DVR casting problem is a deal-killer.
Is there any good news you can tell me about this?
Alternately, is there any way that you can suggest that I can cast from my droid phone to my TV other than through a ChromeCast?

I have. You're right; they don't have a clue. One of them, who otherwise seemed quite knowledgeable, Hera, actually flat out denied there was such an issue.
I finally managed to speak to someone in the DTVS president's office who acknowledged the issue but said he knew of no immediate plans to fix it. He bristled at my calling it a bug, by the way!
Clearly this isn't going to get fixed unless we figure out the right kind of outside pressure to bear and how to make that outside pressure a reality.
Ideas?
Unless, of course, someone has an idea on how to cast from a droid phone without a ChromeCast.

At this moment, this feature is not available on our service. Thank you for your feedback about the DIRECTV STREAM app, it helps us improve the TV experience of our customers. Rest assured that as soon as we have updates about the options to cast DVR playback to a TV from a compatible mobile device, we will inform our customers immediately.

Maria, one of the things I don't understand is the fact that there is currently no problem with casting DVR playback from an iPhone to an AirPlay. I cannot understand how you implemented that capability but did not implement the same capability with droid phones and the ChromeCast. That is clearly a mistake.
Based on your reply, it is clear that nothing I have said has moved the needle one bit at DirecTV Stream when it comes to this problem. So my question to you, as a DirecTV Stream employee, is what
WOULD
move the needle on this problem. It is clear there is no serious intention to fix it since it's been there for literally years. What can we do to change your company's thinking on this matter, and to move it up to a higher priority? How do we fight City Hall on this, please? Thanks.

HEY, HAS THIS BEEN FIXED????!!!!
A user in the DirecTV Stream subreddit, Scoocha, is claiming that one can now cast DVR recordings from the Android phone app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this true? I don't currently have an account. Is there someone in this forum who can check to see whether this has
FINALLY
been repaired after all these years????????
