DirectTV Stream on Fire TV Stick Live TV Problem

I have a Fire TV Stick with the DirectTV Stream application installed.  Usually, when DirectTV launches it streams the live TV channel last viewed.  Recently, the live TV channel does not load.  Instead of the channel, a blue horizontal pulsating progress bar is displayed.

The situation can be resolved by clearing the “app data” from the DirectTV Steam application which then forces me to re-signin at next launch.  I can then exit and launch a couple times but the live TV freeze returns.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the DirectTV Steam application but the issue remained. Ive also uninstalled unused apps but the problem persists.

Anyone have similar issue?  Suggestions?

Hello @AZKenjiro, thanks for reporting this issue with the DIRECTV STREAM app.
We'd like to cover the possible points that are causing this issue. Have you tried using different devices without any problem? Also, please confirm the model of your Fire TV Stick.
Let's check if there are available updates for the app. We can start highlighting the app, then follow these steps:

• Press the menu button.
• Options are provided on the screen, then highlight "More info", if it isn’t already, then press Select.
• The app information screen displays, with option to Open, Update, Get, download from the Cloud, etc.
• If Update is displayed, press the Select button to update the app.
• Once the Update is complete, Open is displayed. Finally, press the Select Open to open the app.
We can also try to check for Amazon Fire TV Updates:
• In the top Fire TV menu, select Settings > My Fire TV > About.
• Look for the Software Version section to view the software version currently installed on the Fire TV.
• Select Check for System Update to see if a software update is available.

- If an update is available, it downloads automatically.

- After completion, select Install System Update to install the update immediately. Otherwise, the update installs automatically the next time they restart their Fire TV, or after the device is idle for more than 30 minutes.

Hello Fernando!

I checked for updates as you specified for both the DirectTV Stream app and the Fire TV Stick itself.  Both are current.  I’ve also done some more investigating …

We have 2 Fire TV Stick 4Ks, 1 Fire TV Stick 3rd generation, and 1 Fire TV Stick 2nd generation.  I can get all 4 devices to exhibit the problem.  Also, I’ve discovered that clearing the data is not required to resolve the issue.  The issue can also be resolved by simply “Force Stop” the Direct TV Stream app.  So, a silver lining is we don’t have to re-signin every time!
