Hello, @AndrewKing29. Let's check what's going on with your JBL Bluetooth headphones. Have you tried to connect your headphones to the DIRECTV STREAM device? DIRECTV STREAM box allows Bluetooth connectivity.

Thanks for the details, @AndrewKing29. Let's try some troubleshooting step:

When the remote control is programed with your TV, you will need to toggle OFF the remote, so your headphones can control the volume of your TV. Then, once you want to use your remote again you can toggle it ON to control the service.

You should also be able to change the input on your TV with your headphones following this step.

I’ve tried reading that over and over but it still doesn’t make sense to me… if the remote is programmed to the tv then it will turn the tv off too and the headphones don’t control anything on the tv

I unpaired them and then paired them again and the volume and mute on the directv stream remote still doesn’t work when the headphones are connected

We want you to enjoy the service at its fullest, @AndrewKing29.

The troubleshooting step mentioned above might help you to have a better control of your service via JBL Bluetooth headphones.

However, we might try to unpair and pair the devices once again:

1. Access Remote & Devices on your DIRECTV STREAM device.
2. Arrow down to New Devices Found.
3. The devices found are displayed. Make sure your headphones are closer and it's in pairing mode.
4. Using the down arrow, scroll down to highlight the device to be paired, then Press OK to select. Make sure to follow the onscreen instructions, if any.
5. The device begins pairing.
6. Once the device pairs a success message is provided.

Finally, we also suggest that you check the DIRECTV STREAM device is updated to ensure they are compatible.
