Directv Stream/Roku remote down arrow no longer triggers guide

Pressing DOWN on the roku remote use to bring up the guide.  However that stopped working as of this morning.  Directv App Build 3750102 Version 3.34.

Now to get to the guide you have to hit the Back button, then select guide (multiple button presses).

Time to go elsewhere. They keep raising the price and getting worse every day.

How does everyone like the guide in general.  Already talked to them about this year's ago but they can't understand.  If you have ALL channels view, you can wrap around the menu.  So if you are at a channel that starts with an "A" and press the up key you will go to the "Z" or bottom if the menu.  If you have your FAVORITES selected you cannot.  You would have to go all the way up or down the guide.  Does not wrap.  Just bad development and/or QA.

We hate the latest update and having to push more buttons and relearning all the buttons - it is not progress. DIRECTV You need to change it back!😡

I effing hate the new update. It was easier to navigate using the down button. I can see my library, go to recently watched shows, etc. Now its a pain in the arse. I'm very pissed off about this.

I don't like it either. The down arrow now does nothing and having it on back is unintuitive. I don't mind the new menu style per se, but the muscle memory of using ht edown arrow is so ingrained. Also, I don't like that it launches to the menu rahter than the last watched channel. I hope they tweak this!

The DTV icon also has a ribbon that states DEV like this is a Beta or even Alpha application. Enflict this on your customers on a Friday night.  Smart.

Agree, absolutely horrible UI app update! Extremely difficult to browse with the already difficult to use Roku remote. Please Address these issues!

This is an incredibly bad "update." Before, you could use that down arrow to switch between various sporting live football games.  I.e. Saturday college football is on multiple channels - now you have to go "sports" and hope that your games are close to one another.  They took something that worked and simply disabled it - now the down arrow does absolutely nothing!!!

All I want to know is, when your in the guide, you can't exit it without picking another channel. So if I don't want to switch channels, I have to go all the way through the guide to get back to the channel I am originally watching,  click it so the guide disappears. How stupid is that?! I use to just hit the back arrow and it would disappear. Not liking the new update!

YES! I was just writing the exact same thing... definitely the worst. No way this was done on purpose. Has to be a bug in my opinion because it makes no sense otherwise.

Yes, used to display the channel you're on behind and you could select another channel if you would like or exit the guide to stay on same channel but now have to select the same channel.  Used to click down once to see previous channels or select items like my recorded shows if I choose.  Then  select down again if I want to go to the guide.

You used to be able to quickly switch between 2 shows like a couple of football games easily now you have to move through a bunch of menus with a bunch of clicks and different buttons.

So, used to be 2 clicks of the same button (Down) to get to the guide which is the number one selection any customer makes on the application.  Now, I have 4 button clicks of 4 separate buttons to get to this guide.  Are people who never use the application designing this?  Do they ever show it to any users for feedback before they do this?  It's just nuts.

On top of all of this lunacy, they do this on a Friday night when they will have nobody there on the weekend to roll back this absolute failure.

Typically, before a "feature loaded" (i.e, drastic update)  like this is rolled out, developers will engage in "user acceptance testing" while the update is in beta mode (i.e., viewed by a group of people who agree to participate and provide feedback)

My guess is that our friends at DirecTv stream decided to skip this step and/or the "beta acceptance group" was comprised of their in house subordinates, cousins and other captives.

The result is that they (DirectTv stream) are seriously deprecating their previous competitive advantage vs other major platforms; which was the user interface.

IMHO,  some will vote with their feet now, others later but sooner or later this company will be toast.

Please reinstate the down button to get to the guide. The new way is inconsistent and on roku wants to exit the program if pressed to much. This change is really annoying
