Directv won’t pause-rewind-fast forward in a recorded sporting event

We have Directv and use Cox WiFi. When we watch normal shows that have been recorded- we can pause- rewind- fast forward. However when we watch a recorded basketball game - most of the time we can’t pause- rewind- fast forward. I’ve even tried to cancel other games that may be recording as we are watching the playback but still isn’t working. Internet is working fine.
any thoughts??

Same issue. Cannot ff while watching events that are still recording. For me, this happens mostly for football games. Once the event is no longer recording, the FF capability returns. This has been happenening for at least a month. It happens on my Directv box, my Roku ultra and my Roku TV. VERY FRUSTRATING AND A BIG WASTE OF TIME. I wish someone from Directv would be honest and tell us what is going on and when they will fix it. PLEASE!!!

That is strange I have a Roku TV and a Roku Stick and FF and RW work fine for my recorded sporting events Basketball & Football.  I also was recording the Detroit/Green Bay football game and I had no problem FF that game as it was recording but I set that game to record but it could be some kind of bug with the games that Directv records. If you are having an issue with FF or RW on a game that is currently recording then I would say that is some kind of a bug on Directv's end.  As for not being able to FF or RW a game that has ended I would try rebooting the Roku device if that does not help then delete the Directv app off your device and reboot if that still does not fix it then I would say this is a bug in the Directv Streaming system and it cannot be fixed until they fix it on their end and who knows when that could be.

Thanks for your input but I have already rebooted my roku devices and reinstalled the Directv app and the problem still exists. I, too, believe it tis something on Directv's end, but they don't seem to be forthcoming about the problem.

Having the exact same problem on my Roku Ultra while watching football games while they are still recording. No pause, ff/rew controls will function.

Very puzzling. I have several TVs with different Roku devices. None of them seem to have this issue.

I stream DirectTV on roku tv's and I started having the same issue on Dec 18 with sporting events only (not able to FF, stop, start the recording when the game was still being played).  After the game was over the recording would work fine.  I've watched sporting events with this same set up for years.

So far I've called Customer Service 3 times.  The last time I called the rep was quite patronizing and explained to me it wasn't possible to watch a recording while it was still being recorded.

I have friends who stream DirectTV on a Firestick and they don't have any problem.  I started using the DirectTV provided converter box instead of Roku because sports recordings work fine there too.

This is obviously an issue between Roku and DirectTV that needs to be resolved.  I suspect the source of the problem has something to do with the Auto Extend program which pertains only to sporting events.
