DVR not recording complete show

A sports program probably ran late, and this means all the programs that evening ran late. You need to set up ither to add 30 minutes or more to the duration of the program you want, or record the next program also.

How do you add minutes to the show you are recording?

If you have directv satellite, just edit the series link. If you have directv streaming, I don't think you can. Just set up to record the following program.

So my question was, how to add 30 minutes?  TexasBrit answers back I don't think you can.  So can you or can't you?

It was Sunday night and basketball was running late making all the shows afterward late.  We noticed in time and taped the shows afterwards so we had the whole show taped.  But is there a way to tape 30-60 minutes extra especially on Sunday evenings when golf or basketball run late? 

There is no funcrion to add time with the service. You will just need to record the next program.

Ok thanks!  Maybe that should be added.  Good thing to be able to add time.  

You wish! Been requested for years. The DVR functions are very primitive.

@bmxmom22 Currently, the recordings are set up based on the time listed on the guide. Our recommendation is selecting the next show after the one you choose to record, in that way you won't miss anything in case it exceeds the time initially scheduled in the guide.

That happened to me today. We are set up to record General Hospital at 3:00 PM every day. When my wife went to watch it tonight it recorded 2 minutes and then got the message asking to delete or not like the entire 1 hr. show was over.  The show was not delayed and started at 3 like it always does. The power didn't go off and no one was around to mess with the DVR. The DVR shows it's 93% free

Are you a DirecTV Satellite or DirecTV Stream customer? You posted in the Stream Forum. Your symptom can happen with DirecTV Satellite DVRs if the signal is interrupted, perhaps due to weather, satellite issue, or network/station issue.
