DVR recordings starting late

Most of my shows have already started when I turn on the recording watch now. Why are they delay recording?

The app is almost 30 seconds behind time.gov.

Yes, even on my 2 DTV Boxes and my Roku.  All the devices say there's a 30 minute or hour recordings but not so.  One of my shows started 6 minutes into the program but mostly the recordings are 1-2 minutes into the show and a few started at 3 minutes into the show.  You miss a LOT even with 1 minute.  On the Conners a week or so ago on ABC there was an audience warning about that episode about a shooting.  DTV Satellite (same channel/same time) had the warning because it started on time.  DTV Stream started late and I had no idea.  Didn't affect "me" but if you had kids and didn't want them to watch it, out of luck with the streaming service.

I absolutely don't understand why they don't at least ACKNOWLEDGE there's a problem and they're working on it.  It's very frustrating.  Another example, on Shark Tank on ABC my recording started with talking about the business and making offers. Missed the whole intro of who owned the business, what the business was, the products, etc.  FRUSTRATING!!!

For a workaround you can choose to watch the show as on-demand instead of dvr and it will start correct but this won’t work if the show is still actively being recorded. I know this does not fix the problem but it allows you access to the first minute or so that was missed. They still need to acknowledge  they are working on fixing this problem.

Nojokes.  Nope, my On Demand copies all start late also.  I think because it points to the already "recorded" copy (which starts late).

Interesting, when I go to watch something there’s a button that says “ways to watch” with 3 dots. That opens up a new menu that lets me choose “recording” or “on demand” maybe it’s just available for certain shows.

I'm in Indiana and my locals are late as well.  Jeopardy (NBC) starts on the first clue... we miss show intro, player names/ hometowns,  and categories.  News on both NBC and CBS start late as well.

We use Firesticks and Samsung TV apps..

Did it start before daylight savings time?

Same problem here - occurs on a daily series recording on the local FOX affiliate (specifically Jeopardy on FOX Nashville) and just started within the last few weeks. Platform doesn't seem to matter - it's the same on Roku, Apple TV, the DirecTV android box, iPad, and iPhone clients. I am also experiencing the same "out of sync" issue during FF and Rewind.

Hi @Cckevin, we want to help figure out what's causing the delay in your recordings.

To get started, let us know if this is happening only with the local channels.

We'll take things from there.

Hi @Cckevin, thanks for confirming.

Can you please also confirm if this issue happens with other devices such as tablets, cellphones or PC?

We want to explore different options to fix this, thank you.

I believe this all started before Daylight Savings Time.

Watched my recording of The Good Doctor this morning. Watched the beginning on the computer (which cleared up some confusion) and it was a full 2 1/2 minutes late recording.

All you folks from DIRECTVhelp, there is no point in telling individual folks you want to help them with their issues. We ALL across the country have the same issues. It is YOU not us. You need to escalate this problem.

@Maria - Yes.  Just like everyone says - it does not matter which device - because the recordings are not stored on the device...

Verifyed yesterday's recording of Jeopardy is mid-clue on the following devices:

  1. Firestick
  2. Samsung App
  3. Computer Browser (Chrome)
  4. Android App

And all start at exactly the same spot - because the recording is in the cloud.
