error when attempting to cast content to chromecast from directv app

Just signed up for directv streaming service.  Getting error message that something went wrong when attempting to cast content through the directv app using chromecast.  the message is: "There is an issue. If this message displays again please relaunch your app or restart your chromecast." I can cast successfully using other apps.  Using directv app from iphone and ipad.

The DirecTV App does not support casting video.

The DirecTV Stream app certainly does supports casting (even from iOS devices).  However there was a problem since the start that casting of DVR recordings doesn't work.  They've said for years that they are working on fixing that - no idea if they have actually done so.

@DIRECTVhelp - that was an impressively messed up link you provided.  You really went out of your way - selecting your entire post as the URL.  Well done!!!

Just signed up for directv streaming service on 9/10/2023.  When I tried to cast from directv app on my Android phone to my TV through Chromecast, the steaming appeared to be about to start before I was seeing exactly the same error message on TV screen: "There is an issue. If this message displays again please relaunch your app or restart your Chromecast." I can always cast successfully using Netflix apps on my Android phone, so I have to assume this is an issue from directv streaming app. I'm disappointed to know that directv still has not resolved this issue almost one year after it was reported.
