Gemini box hangs when trying to access apps.

I have a Gemini box.  When I try to access the apps screen, it hangs for a few seconds then the Direct stream logo pops up and it goes back to regular channels. I have unplugged and pressed the restart button many times. Any ideas?

Have you tried a factory reset (not a red button restart)? Hold the red button down for about 30 seconds and the box will do a factory reset.

No, it shouldn't lose those settings or your recordings. Remember that DirecTV Stream recordings are in the cloud, not your physical streaming device.

I have not done that. Will it lose my settings, scheduled recordings, etc?

Thanks for the reply. The factory reset fixed the apps problem. It did not lose my recordings or the recordings I had programmed. However I did lose some settings. I had to program the remote again  to control the tv and sound bar.   But it is a small price to pay to get the apps back. Thanks again.
