Try reaching out to them on Twitter they are more knowledgeable and more helpful when reaching out to Directv. If you still cannot get anywhere with them then you could always buy one from a 3rd party seller. I would recommend Amazon over eBay but if you were to go the eBay route I would make sure the seller excepts returns so that you do not get stuck with a box that does not work. Hope this helps!
Hi, u/Bob60. We're glad you want to have the latest device. Getting a GEMINI shouldn't be hard. We're sending you a PM to help you get one. Luisa, DIRECTV Community Specialist
If you have an old (grandfathered) subscription from DirecTV Now days (or even maybe from AT&T TV Now), you can't buy them from DirecTV - for some reason they won't sell them to those subscribers.
If you have a more recent subscription from AT&T TV days or even more recently DirecTV Stream, they seemingly are making it more difficult, but supposedly not impossible.
They now have 2 types of "streaming" subscriptions - the "traditional" DirecTV Stream and "DirecTV via Internet". The latter is their new packaging, and provides access to Gemini devices. The former (which may also be called "BYOD - bring your own devices) seems to be a legacy service - still available, but you need to hunt for it. They do not mention the Gemini device at all on the page for Stream anymore. (Interestingly, the list of "supported devices" on the Stream page's FAQ is long and contains a bunch of incorrect entries, but does not include the Gemini).
If you do have a recent DirecTV via Internet subscription, you should be able to order Gemini devices from your on-line account page. I have no clue if you have a older or traditional Stream subscription.

What sort of subscription to Stream do you have?
