Guide Icons/Pictures
Has anything been resolved with the Channel Icons/Pictures in the Directv Stream app? It's not been working for 3 weeks except only of and on. Weird! We have to go to free streaming services on our LG smart tv like Tubi, watch it a few minutes and then go back to the Directv Stream app, launch it and then we have the channel icons again BUT, it does not last! They again disappear. WHY DO WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH SO MANY HOOPS ON OUR TV TO GET DIRECTV STREAM GUIDE CHANNEL ICONS? Our Firestick updated in real time several days ago but this problem with the app channel icons on the Directv Stream guide has been ongoing since they rolled out the new guide weeks ago. The old guide worked PERFECTLY and we didn't have to do anything but watch it. We were so impressed with Directv Stream at the beginning but now not so much!!!!! We've been told there is a fix in the works but it's been 3 weks and no fix yet! Any thing from Directv Stream on this?

With the firestick? I am not having this problem, but I was able to figure out why some people are. When I use my firestick and Dtv Stream app and want to quit using the app --I hit the back button on the firestick remote so the popup screen from the Dtv stream app comes up that says "are you sure you want to exit Dtv stream?" then hit exit. Some people don't exit the app that way. If you are using the app don't just hit the home button on your firestick remote to get out of the app. That's when the logo issue happens. Exit it properly by hitting the back button then hit exit on the popup screen. Then when you restart the app later the logo issue in the guide doesnt happen.

That fix may work for a day. Neither Amazon or DTVS is saying on whose end this problem is. Seemed to me started after the latest DTVS update.

You guys aren't exiting the app properly. There isn't an issue with the software. Exit thru the Dtv stream app exit screen popup every single tine by hitting the back button on the firestick remote. That's how I always do it and I've never seen a guide logo issue. It isn't that hard to hit the back button on the firestick remote and then hit exit on the popup vs just hitting the home button on the firestick remote.

It is not an user issue. Read the other threads that you have commented on. The fix you mention has been out there for several days and mentioned as a temporary fix.

If you exit the app every single time like you are supposed to---with the back button on the firestick remote and then hit exit on the Dtv stream app popup---you will never see the issue again. Yah, if you do it like I suggest one time then never again it is temporary because you aren't exiting the app properly. So freaking hard headed. I exit out of the app every single time the way I explained and have NEVER had a problem with the logos. The few times I decided to try and re-create the glitch I hit the home button on the remote----started the app up again and no logos. It only happens when you don't exit properly.

Ludwick577 is correct. The issue is associated with restarting Dtv after exiting with the Firestick Home button. It may be necessary for Amazon to issue a "permanent" fix.

I always use the back button on the firestick remote so that the Dtv stream app "are you sure you want to exit" screen pops up. Not sure why doing it this way is so hard to accept for people. I mean you already hit the home button. Just hit the back button on the remote instead and then hit exit on the popup screen. It is only one more remote key press. LOL
