Have to click input on remote to get sound

Don't have to select any input, just click it.  Sound comes on when DirectTV first starts with TV but quickly shows "Home" at top of screen and as soon as it does that, the sound goes out.  Hit the input button on remote and it comes back.

Tried everything I could find on the internet.  TV did not do that with the cable company, does not do it with any other source.  TV is Sony.
