How do I get DirecTV Stream to record the right channel when games are on more than one stream?

Astros fan here.  Is there a way to set a primary recording channel for baseball games?  Rather than record the primary channel (Space City) for every game, the auto record will pick up the Spanish broadcast on Space City2.  When they are playing the Texas Rangers, instead of picking up Space City, it picks up the game on the Texas Rangers Network.  In fact, it seems the Astros' primary channel is almost always the last pick for the game.

Is there a way to default or set a channel priority so when the game is on multiple channels, it always picks Space City first if the game is available there?

If you guys would just update the software to let customers pick the channel to record on when setting up a series recording---this issue would be fixed.

The system automatically defaults to the lowest channel number the game is being broadcast on, @angrygerbil. Because the Spanish feed sits on a lower channel number, it will record there. To ensure the game is recorded on the correct feed, you can schedule the games directly from the team page as single events:

-Find the team: Search "Astros" to open the team page.

-Select the feed: Scroll down to Schedule / Upcoming Airings and find the next game specifically listed on 674 and not on 674-1.

-Record once: Highlight that game and press the Record button. This locks the recording specifically to your local RSN and ensures you get the home broadcast every time.

Appreciate the workaround, that's what I have been doing.  It works when I am in town, but when I am out of town I get the wrong games.  I don't think it has to do with the channel numbers, though, unless there is an underlying numbers system I don't see.  Both Space City channels (Space City and Space City Alt) show up as 674.  The Rangers are 677 and when the Astros play the Rangers it always defaults to 677 as preferred.

For what DTV is charging, they ought to be able to come with a solution.

Since both Space City feeds share Channel 674, the auto-record system relies on underlying program data rather than a standard channel order, which can cause it to default to the away feed on Channel 677.

We know manually scheduling each game is tedious, especially when traveling. While DIRECTV doesn't currently have a 'Home Feed' or 'Channel Priority' setting, we are passing your specific scenario directly to our product team to review and determine next steps. Kenneth, DIRECTV Community Team
