How do I stop the "We've paused your program" From coming on?
It is annoying, right in the denouement of a movie the screen goes black and I get this pointless message.

As noted earlier, the reason cable and satellite don't force this is that the transmission infrastructure is different. Basically, cable and satellite services own the infrastructure - they don't pay someone else to send the signal to you, so it doesn't cost them anything extra for you to just leave it on. That isn't the case for streaming services - they have to pay ISPs for internet access just like you do, and if (everyone) left it on when it isn't actually being used, it would require them to get (and pay for) additional bandwidth - and they would pass that cost onto the subscribers. If they had a way to distinguish between "someone is still watching" and "the subscriber just walked away and left it on", they might take advantage of it to avoid irritating people, but there is no way other than requiring the user to occasionally hit a button. (I've seen reports that there are some streaming services that don't do this, but I've personally never encountered them. If it's true and it becomes widespread, then DirecTV will probably have to re-examine this to stay competitive.)

Other services don’t have this issue and the costs are comparable, hence why I will change back. DT is just too lazy to fix this, since it I obviously a pain point for some. I pay for the service to be available 24/7, they should provide an option to support that.

Xfinity Flex did this. YouTube TV did not. Neither did fubo. Had I known DIRECTV Stream did this I would have stayed away.

You can cancel and change anytime. You are not under contract.

Thanks, Captain Obvious. But I’ll have to wait unless DIRECTV prorates.

Well as obvious as it may be for some, it was helpful. Certainly more so than a should'ave/could'ave/would'ave statement. So that "Captain" out ranks you in that regard.
Now that hyperbole is out of the way, if you would like help or guidance than post as such. Otherwise enjoy your service for however long you have it.

Yeah, enjoy your service and having to find your remote several times a day to keep the stream you are paying for working. How dare you ask for the service you are paying for to work properly. I am fascinated there are DirectTV trolls harassing those people trying to point out and correct the flaws DTV. Money talks, this issue made me cancel, I would call demand they prorate you back. You are not getting the service you paid for.
