How do you show channel names in the new guide?

Some have gotten them to come back by Rebooting they device. Give it a shot.

I have tried everything only works until you turn TV off and then back on again disappointing.

Turn the tv off? I thought u had a firestick / app? U mean turn the firestick off/on?

My fire stick has TV controls on it it will turn the TV off

So--turning your tv off fixes the Dtv stream app on the firestick?? If that's the case then there isn't an issue with the Dtv stream app-- it's your setup somehow. I thought when you said turn it off u mean restart your firestick.

I had to completely remove the app then reload to get my channel names to show up.

I too have started having this issue with DirecTV Stream app on FireTV. Clearing cache temporarily fixes it, but if you exit the app and restart it the names are removed from the guide again.  Just started happening this week!

I have the same issue (no network names in guide). Appears to have happened after latest update. As noted above, clearing the cache seems to help for the current session. 

Channel names disappeared on the gulf. Going to exit the app, then open app to see if channel names reappear.

Exited the app and reopened the app and channel names reappeared. Can't be an app glitch can it?

I've been using my firestick all day and not seeing this issue. 

Lud we are glad you don't have a problem.   Direct contacted me and said there is a bug with the latest download for some users, which I knew, and they would get it resolved.  Hope so.  

I have only had Directv Stream for 8 days.  The Guide has functioned properly until today, April 17th.  I do not know the channels by the DirecTV numbers, so I really need the channel names.  The icons help too.  The channel names & icons were missing when I turned TV & Fire TV Stick on a few minutes ago.  Turned TV & Firestick off & on using Fire TV Stick control and channel names and icons are still missing.  Logged out of app and logged back in - no change.  Rebooted Fire TV Stick - no change.  Cannot find a way within the DirecTV Stream app to update it.  App Build #2002030566 & Version #4.0.31.36712.

I read all the preceding comments and clearing cache did not help.  I deleted the app and re-installed it and the channel names and icons are working again.  Wondering how often this will have to be done???

I read a post (not necessarily on this thread) that DTV is aware of the issue and is working it...We'll see.
