Incomplete recordings and incomplete information

I recently switched to Directv stream. I used youtubetv for a couple of years but had to switch in order to watch my favorite sports teams. Even though I have not been subscribed for month yet I've have come across at least a half a dozen incomplete recordings. Ranging from awards shows to Formula 1 to the MLS championship today. They just cut off well before the end of the program.

This never happened once on youtubetv. (or even Fubo when I tried them for a month.) I really don't understand it. I'm now paying almost 40% more a month but unless I'm missing something...  I'm getting a drastically inferior service.

I can see no way to extend recordings and cannot fathom how Directv is getting away with this or managing to maintain customers.

I'm also unable to see what time a program was recorded or if it has been viewed.

What am I missing?
