Input banner will not go away

On my Sony TV (not smart TV), the input banner always displays when the TV is turned on.  When I had Google Fiber TV, the banner would go away after a few seconds.  As soon as I started using the DirecTV Stream box, the banner stays on the screen.  Therefore, must be an issue with the interface between the TV and the DirecTV box.  How can I fix it?

I found this on a google search: On your Sony TV

Follow these steps to turn off the Auto Display feature: Using the supplied Sony tv remote, press the HOME button. Select Setup → System Settings → Auto Display. Select Off.

OR

  1. On the supplied Sony remote, press the HOME button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Preferences.
  4. Select Setup.
  5. Select Info Banner.
  6. Select Hidden.
    • If you want less information to appear on your screen, select Small.

Thank you DIRECTVhelp but there is no option for "My equipment and services" under Settings on my DirecTV Stream device.  Perhaps it exists only on the DirecTV receiver? There is, however, a "Restart/Reset" option under Settings, System.  Should I use that?

Did you try the steps on your Sony tv I listed above?

@Jayhawk69 yes, let's use the "Restart/Reset" option to see if it helps.

Please take into consideration that all the customized settings will be lost after performing this process; however, they can be set up again once it's done.

Let us know how it goes, we will be happy to help.

Ludwick577, that menu does not exist on my Sony TV.  There was a setting for Info banner but the only options were large or small - no option for hidden.
