Intermittent black screen
Super annoying! In the middle of a show, the screen goes black for about 5 seconds. This happens about every 5 minutes. Tried all the uninstall/reinstall, power off & on, log out & in, etc etc to no avail. Anyone else having this issue?
I have a Samsung "Smart" TV but this does not happen with any of the other 25 apps I have. This is so problematic if it doesn't get solved soon I'm definitely unsubscribing. Not worth the hassle with multiple other apps out there to use that cost the same or less!

I watch through the Direct TV stream site on Chrome and I've had this issue on multiple channels. I have fiber internet plugged directly into my PC and the issues are always in the same spots on recordings. I can rewind and it will still be a black screen. I've had the other issue where it will just go black and not return to normal unless I change channels or refresh the page. I've ALSO had an issue with recordings specifically jumping to the end of the recording with me not touching anything. When I'm watching a game I recorded, I don't like to see the result of it while I'm half way through. Lots of issues, and I didn't have any of these with AT&T before the switch. Incredibly infuriating.

Today is March 10th, 2022
The current version of the DirecTV Stream App for Samsung TV's is: 3.27.31104
I noticed there have been at least 3 app updates in the last three weeks. The last update was two days ago and so far the streaming service hasn't puked like is used to...
I'm not seeing the lag or buffering but I notice the "Are you still watching" notification is more frequent and some of the HD channels don't seem to be as crisp as they should be.
A special note: I did have to reset my network after the last update. In my case I have FiOS and it entails turning off your Router and ONT from your provider for at least 30 minutes so when you turn the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) your provider should more than likely assign you a new IP Address. When you restart your Router, it will grab your new Gateway IP Address.
I also assigned a Port (Port forwarding of Virtual Server setting in your router) and assigned it to my TV's Network address. To do this you need to use a Static IP Network Address for your TV's.

I recently went to my daughter's house and logged on to my account on their Roku app based tv (TCL I think). I had absolutely no issues in several hours of watching. As a result I replaced my Fire TV streamers with Roku and now magically no issues, at least not for the past week. I still get intermittent blackouts when I watch on chrome from my office. It appears to me that these issues are with the individual clients and not the server although I was suspicious about the server due to my chrome and Fire TV issues.
Please fix the chrome browser client.

I'm streaming from my Lenovo laptop to my LG TV via HDMI and it's the same here and there was never one solution to the problem as it would happen with only DirecTV Stream. It worked fine this way when it was AT&T TV but when it was changed to DirecTv Stream shortly there after the blackouts began. Roku Stick, Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube and others have no problems.
Blackouts, freezing and channel back and forth to get picture back?!?!
Not acceptable. That's why I went with another service. Don't waste your time!
I stop by every once in a while to see if they may have fixed the issue but apparently they haven't or can't.
