Keep the shows kid‑friendly with DIRECTV Streaming Parental Controls
What you can do
- Create a 4‑digit PIN to filter by TV/movie ratings and control viewing access. Settings are per device—set it up on each screen your family uses.
- If the PIN is entered incorrectly 5 times, you’ll be prompted to sign in before trying again.
Devices covered in this guide
- Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku (on‑TV app)
- DIRECTV app on iPhone/iPad and Android
- Web browsers: Safari or Chrome (on desktop)
- Quick steps (by device)
- Apple TV / Fire TV / Roku → Open DIRECTV STREAM > Settings > Preferences > Parental Controls > follow prompts to set your PIN.
- DIRECTV app (iOS/Android) → Open the app > Settings > Parental Controls > toggle ON and enter your PIN.
- Safari or Chrome (web) → Open DIRECTV STREAM > gear icon Settings > General > select the padlock next to Parental Controls > set PIN and turn ON.
- Heads up: Parental Controls don’t apply to third‑party streaming apps on your DIRECTV device.
