Non-network Commercials Cause Juddering/Lag on 4k Firestick App
Using the DTV Stream app on a 4k Amazon Firestick. On non-major network channels (anything other than ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.) some commercials cause the sound to judder and lag. When this happens, going up or down a channel and immediately going back to the original channel fixes the issue, but a different commercial is playing. Sometimes, instead of a different commercial, the insipid "Commercial Break in Progress" comes up when returning to the original channel. The channel plays OK until another commercial break that the app seems not to like.
Based on the above, it seems the issue is caused by a conflict between the local commercials and the network commercials.
Anyone else having this issue? DirectTV, is there a fix for this?

The juddering/lag continue in the programming if you don't change the channel and change back.

They wanted to reset my service, but I declined as I doubt that would have fixed anything. It only happens on channels other than the major networks, where different commercials are used in different markets. I thought it may have been a VPN issue, but I have DTV bypassing the VPN.
I guess I'll live with it and just go up and back down a channel when it happens.

I tried the steps and they didn't fix anything. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. IT'S STILL HAPPENING, AND GETTING WORSE. It used to only happen on the Gameshow Network and now happens on Oxygen too!

In order to better understand what's happening with your device, could you please confirm the Firestick software and model?
We would also like to know if your device is connected via wireless or wired with Ethernet cable.
We'll be happy to check on this for you.

I'm running a Fire TV Stick 4k (Gen 3?), connected via ethernet using a Ugreen USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter Hub with RJ45 10 100 1000 Gigabit Ethernet Converter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TWGHM99/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Software Version - Fire OS 6.2.8.9 (NS6289/3905)
Fire TV Home Version - 6370051.1

Also, it's not only the sound. The picture judders as well when this happens.
Again, going up or down a channel using the left/right button on the remote and returning to the original channel fixes the issue, but there is always a different commercial (or the "Commercial Break in Progress" rat in a wheel) when returning immediately to the original channel.
It only happens during commercials (some, not all), which makes me think the commercial insertion process is where the problem lies.
