I have the same problem and would love to figure out what the heck is going on.  Apple TV user. Anytime I click “play now” on any show in the On Demand section, absolutely nothing happens.

It may be helpful to uninstall and reinstall the app:  

Remove the App

• Highlight the App DIRECTV STREAM and hold Select (touch-pad) until the app starts to shake.
• Press Play/Pause and choose to delete the app.

Installation

• From the Apple TV device, open the App Store.
• Use the Search function of the App Store to find app DIRECTV STREAM.
• Select the App DIRECTV STREAM > Get for free.
• If prompted, enter your Apple ID password. The application begins to download

When I go to watch a show on demand nothing happens. I can navigate to the watch now button but it’s like I didn’t press it. This just started a few days ago.

I’ve uninstalled the app several times and rebooted my fire stick but I still can’t play on demand. I tried recording the shows. The shows record but I can’t play them.

Working correctly for me. Not seeing anything going on here with both Roku and Firestick.

I didn’t have any issues until a few days ago. Thank you for responding.
